Hey all, some exciting news from NC AIFD. NC consists of 9 states – Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakoda, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Plus 2 Canadian provinces, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Our board has recently created a FUN-draising committee and we are looking for volunteers. Ideally, we are seeking one or several from EACH state, that would like to serve on this committee.
Some of the incredible ideas that we have brainstormed so far are: Exhibits at Winery’s, Hands on Classes, Styled Shoot events and Museum/Art events. Our thought process is that having several smaller events vs one large one will get more people involved, reach more “individuals”, whereby increasing industry awareness and put less pressure on one person/event.
As you many know, NCAIFD had to take a pass on Meadowbrook due to the current state of the world. While we are hopeful that we will again be able to take part in this amazing event in 2021, the board decided we really should come up with additional sources of income for our chapter, we currently have just the one, and “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” seems fitting right now. Our thinking is that no one knows what is happening in your part of the world better than you! Also, no one has better connections for venues and assistants, etc. than you! Right now, some states are very restricted, while some are more open and again, you all know what can and can’t be safely and successfully accomplished.
