AIFD Catastrophic Fund Brings Hope to Those in Need

BloomNet offers Matching Funds

By Lynn Lary McLean AIFD

You may recall a most recent time when Texas State Florists’ Association worked in concert with the AIFD® Foundation to support victims of Hurricane Harvey, and Florida State Florists’ Association worked in concert to support victims of Hurricane Irma. Other catastrophic situations soon followed, such as the fires in California, where there was no specific fund in place to help. This led the AIFD® Foundation Board of Trustees to establish the AIFD® Foundation Catastrophic Fund to assist with physical damage to property, resulting from a natural disaster, in a timely manner.

BloomNet supported each of the mentioned hurricane funds and has now generously offered to match dollar for dollar donations, up to $5,000, contributed to the AIFD® Foundation Catastrophic Fund by BloomNet Florists. This support will be most helpful to those impacted by recent winter storms.

“For over forty years the AIFD® Foundation has supported a lifetime of learning. Providing a cornerstone of care through the AIFD® Foundation Catastrophic Fund, brings hope to those in need. In recent years, with funds established for a specific purpose, the AIFD® Foundation supported victims of hurricanes, with BloomNet providing generous support during each of these catastrophic events. BloomNet has once again opened the possibility to increase each donation from a BloomNet florist dollar for dollar. We are grateful for this consideration and extend our appreciation.”  — AIFD® Foundation CEO Lynn Lary McLean AIFD

If you have been fortunate to not experience extensive damage due to the most recent winter storms, the AIFD® Foundation invites you to contribute what you can to help those in need.
