On April 22, 2021 Jiseon Yun AIFD, CFD presented this year’s virtual Artist In Residence Program titled “Contemporary Design with Foliage”.
Jiseon’s presentation focused on the creation of dynamic and visually exciting floral arrangements, using just a few materials in each design very effectively.
Using lily grass and aspidistra leaves she created a basic armature, which became an integral part of the design, as well as a base to hold the individual flowers.
Using 2 cameras in her own studio, Jiseon made it possible to really see the intricate details of her work.
The students were then guided to create a small armature using foliage and a floral stapler to secure the leaves and the stems.
Considering the virtual format of this AIR Program, it was a great success. The student members also had the opportunity to individually show their finished designs and received firsthand instruction, guidance and feedback.
