A former AIFD President, Jack Smith AIFD served as a dedicated leader of our organization. During Jack’s administration, his Executive Board consisted of the following: President-Elect Wilton Hardy, Vice President Bill Harper, Secretary Bob Hampton, and Treasurer Holly Money Collins. National Board Members: Joe Gordy, Susan Cruise-Tomlinson, David Hope, Nick Galatte, Jim Johnson, Patti Pottle, and John Pavich.
Jack was our twentieth AIFD President and was inducted in 1977. He served as Vice President and President-Elect before entering the office of President. Jack also served on the finance committee and the membership committee. He was on the Board of the Southern Chapter for three years. Jack served on the Board of Trustees of the AIFD Foundation. In addition, he co-chaired a national symposium as well as designed a program for the symposium.
Bill Taylor and Allen Beck were the symposium coordinators in Newport that year. Tom Shaner was our management company.
Jack’s talents also included serving as a trustee of the American Academy of Florists. He was the owner of French’s Flowers and Gifts in Livonia, Michigan.
