AIFD Foundation Grants and Scholarships Announcing the 2021 Award Recipients

The AIFD Foundation’s mission is to provide financial support for educational purposes, scholarships, projects and programs that facilitate the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in the field of floral design and related fields.  The AIFD Foundation Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the 2021 Grant and Scholarship Awards.

GRANT UP TO $7,344 UNDERWRITES FLORAL DESIGN EDUCATION IN FLORIDA

  • Awarded to Florida State Florists’ Association in support of the 100th Anniversary Convention

CFD SCHOLARSHIP UP TO $1,000 EACH

  • Awarded to Amanda Elliott CFD to attend Floriology Institute’s Certification and Competition Course funded by Tom Powell AIFD Endowed Fund
  • Awarded to Abby Herrington CFD to attend the Benz School’s Techniques of Contemporary Design & Certification Preparation funded by Tom Powell AIFD Endowed Fund
  • Awarded to Judy Janzen CFD to attend Floral Design Institute’s Designing for Competition and Evaluation funded by Tom Powell AIFD Endowed Fund and AIFD Foundation Endowed Fund
  • The Preparatory Class Registrations are underwritten by the noted AIFD® Education Partners of which we are most grateful

SCHOLARSHIPS TO S.H.I.N.E. UP TO $3,150 EACH

  • Awarded to Marcella Lopez-Vallejo AIFD to mentor with Charlie Groppetti AIFD and Todd Smith funded by Michi Burrell AIFD Endowed Fund
  • Awarded to Renee Tucci AIFD to mentor with Paul Miller AIFD and the Sunshine Bouquet Company funded by Bobbi Ecker Blatchford AIFD Endowed Fund and Michi Burrell AIFD Endowed Fund

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS TO TOTAL $5,000

  • Awarded to Kiara Benavides funded by Allen Shackelford AIFD Endowed Fund
  • Awarded to Madi Reaves funded by Allen Shackelford AIFD Endowed Fund
  • The recipients will continue their studies at California Polytechnic State University

A LIFETIME OF LEARNING SCHOLARSHIP UP TO $750 FOR A TENNESSEE RESIDENT

  • Awarded to Shelby Ferguson funded by Joe Smith AIFD Endowed Fund

Up to $3,000 held in Trust for the PFDE Scholarship to be awarded to the Overall

Student Winner of the AIFD® Student Design Competition funded by the Allen Shackelford AIFD Endowed Fund and the Don Stothart AIFD Endowed Fund

Up to $8,000 held in Trust to fund four 2022 AIFD® Symposium Scholarships

  • Held in Trust for Illissa Collins from the South Central Chapter Endowed Fund and Rocky Pollitz AIFD Endowed Fund
  • Held in Trust for Kristine de Groot from the North East Chapter Endowed Fund
  • Held in Trust for Fabier Vargas Medina from the Florida Florist Endowed Fund and Southern Chapter Endowed Fund
  • Held in Trust for Connor McClenahan from the Jim Treadaway AIFD Endowed Fund and Eulalah Overmeyer AIFD Endowed Fund

Up to $2,277 held in Trust for SAIFD Students to attend AIFD® Hands-on Workshops at the 2022 AIFD® Symposium funded by proceeds from The Empty Vase

Up to $1,738 held in Trust for Margarita Maxwell and Kim Jones AIFD to fund two 2022 AIFD Symposium Premium Registrations funded by Floriology Institute powered by BloomNet

The AIFD Foundation has extended 2020 awarded opportunities through 2022
