AIFD Promotes Inclusivity with International Members

AIFD Regional Chapters made a move designed to better support and include our international members. The National Board met in Chicago on March 27th and approved the motion; All International AIFD Members of the American Institute of Floral Designers, shall automatically be assigned to a designated Regional Chapter. Those assignments are as follows:

North East Regional Chapter– any country in Europe, Ontario, Quebec, UK and Netherlands

Southern Regional Chapter– any country in Africa or South America, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago

North Central Regional Chapter– Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, New Zealand, Australia

South Central Regional Chapter– any country in Central America, Mexico

North West Regional Chapter– Japan, Alberta, British Columbia, South Korea, Taiwan, Yukon Territory, NW Territories

South West Regional Chapter– China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand

During the Symposium in Chicago, Grow 2023, the South Central Regional Chapter International Representative to Mexico, was chosen. Congratulations! Rocio del Pilar Silva Davila AIFD CFD. Recently, Ken Senter AIFD CFD was invited to be the guest of the AIFD Korean members to make a floral presentation on the elements and principles of design. During Ken’s visit to their AIFD meeting, Ken was able to congratulate once again; Minsook Lee AIFD CFD who was elected as the North West Regional Chapter International Representative to Korea.

We look forward to continuing our work with international members as we all can learn so much from each other.
