PRESS RELEASE
DORAL – CITY OF FLOWERS
Date: December 8, 2021
We are so glad to invite you to an upcoming Press Conference that will be taking place December 8th – 5PM at the Doral City Hall. The City of Doral officially will be designated as THE CITY OF FLOWERS. We are requesting your distinguished presence. This is a vision that both Yola Guz and Ruben Consa had several years ago and finally we will see it happen.
The Society of American Florists (SAF) is the leading National Association providing marketing, government advocacy, industry intelligence, guidance and best practices information for all participants in the US Floral Industry. SAF is always looking for what’s best for the floral industry and the American consumer and will be designating the City of Doral as the CITY OF FLOWERS on December 8, 5PM at City Hall Building. The Designation Ceremony will be followed by a Celebrating Cocktail Party at 5:30 PM that will be attended by a nucleus of Flower Importers and Floral Professionals across the Border in this community and in the industry.
The reach of Doral’s floral industry is incredibly significant. It creates thousands of jobs for Doral residents and residents from adjacent cities. We recognize how important this industry is for our local economy and the City of Doral wants to do more to promote it.
All local floral related businesses provide tax revenue in the millions, economically helping the community as a whole.
At this time, the resolution is coming to life designating the City of Doral as the “City of Flowers.” What an amazing opportunity to market and showcase the City of Doral as the biggest hub of flowers and floral products in the country. “City of Flowers” embodies the vast socioeconomic impact Doral’s floral industry has in our community.
The “City of Flowers” designation also creates a “flower awareness”, especially to those who may not be familiar with the impact the industry has on the City of Doral. Our city has a unique floral culture that deserves recognition. We believe the “City of Flowers” designation will create a direct boosting effect, attracting new businesses and reinforcing existing ones. The local floral professionals already understand the power flowers have in everyday life, now we want to share that with the community and the nation at large. There’s a lot to do and with your support we can be certain that this designation will bring substantial benefits to everyone involved.
