The hustle and bustle of the holidays are upon us. It’s hard to take a breath as the excitement builds. Why do we do this? We do it for the love of our industry and our customers! This is the glue that binds us all together. Remember to take time to pause, reflect, and count your blessings.
The past couple of years have seen some challenges as we adjust, and readjust, to the new normal. We have produced creative décor, supplied emotional support, shared expressions of love, sympathy, and so much more. We have had to become even more creative with our products and design styles. It’s time to treat yourself to a bit of self-enrichment!
Some of the best AIFD opportunities for me personally, have been volunteering. I have learned design skills, met new members, shared stories and techniques. Are you ready for ROOTS? Our Symposium is around the corner. Reach out to Kim Oldis AIFD to Volunteer and learn about our Ambassador Program.
AIFD has gone virtual! Thank you to Jackie Lacey AIFD, Sandy Schroeck AIFD, Patti Fowler AIFD and the education committee. The first program featured the floral talents of Jody McLeod AIFD and Tom Bowling AIFD. Take advantage of four online master presentations. Think about giving a presentation to a floral friend as a gift.
A very quick but rewarding trip took me to Las Vegas, where I met with the ROOTS team in person for the very first time in two years! The team of Ann Jordan AIFD, Hitomi Gilliam AIFD, Ania Norwood AIFD and Aniko Kovacs AIFD have extraordinary programs waiting for you to enjoy. Lynn Lary McLean AIFD (Foundation CEO) and Joyce Mason Monheim AIFD (workroom chair) joined us, sharing their abundant knowledge and guidance. Jalene Browersmith and Karin Travitz from the Stringfellow Management Group helped coordinate details.
An extra treat was a visit with the South West Regional Chapter Members for a tour of the New Convention Center, and then a delicious dinner on the LINQ promenade. You must put this on your list when you get to Las Vegas.
From your National Board and myself, wishing you a safe, joyous and prosperous Holiday Season.
