Though he is well known throughout the industry as the publisher of an illustrious trend leading magazine, and leader of a prestigious floral design educational team, Richard Salvaggio AIFD did not start as a knowledgeable florist. In fact, his field of expertise was completely different. Today, he recounts his early forays into the world of flowers.
The first time I attended the Philadelphia Flower Show was three years ago, when my daughters gifted me tickets and came along for the adventure. As I write this, a picture of us among one of the amazing displays from that year sits on my desk and still makes me smile! That trip inspired me to lean into my creative side and pursue my growing interest in flowers. That same year, I enrolled in the AIFD Certified Floral Design Certification program at Bucks County Community College, outside of Philadelphia, PA.

It has been an exciting few months run up to the Jubilee Celebrations of our wonderful Queen, with the main celebratory weekend taking place over the 2nd-5th of June.
