As AIFD accredited designers we are socially often proudly introduced by our friends and family by what we do professionally. This is a rather American culture as it is presumed people have an interest in what we do for a living. For instance, when asked, I tell people I am a designer or “in the floral industry”, and most of the time the response is, “where is your flower shop?”. Often there is more to it than a traditional retail operation alone.

The Milwaukee Museum of Art has finally had the chance to bring back their popular Art in Bloom event. Started in 2008, this annual event, that stalled for 2 years, celebrates spring and features floral designers and artists from all over Wisconsin.
The SAIFD Trillium Chapter hosted the annual Air Program in the Spring of this year, with Guest Designer Jiseon Yun AIFD, CAFA.
BURNABY BLOOMS, in the beautiful City of Burnaby, B.C., Canada, was celebrated throughout the month of May this year. Students at The Ohio State University kicked off a busy spring season with an inspiring Artist-in-Residence program presented by Frank Feysa, AIFD, of Aurora, Ohio. During the workshop, Frank led students in making large natural armatures from gathered twigs and branches.
