Fearlessly taking a “leap of faith,” our trio, K.K. Loo, Teresa Tsui, and Michelle Lo, showcased their creativity at both local and international floral events. Having successfully completed their PFDE in 2023, K.K. Loo and Teresa Tsui are now being inducted as Accredited Members of AIFD in Orlando, while Michelle Lo stands as a talented certified floral designer of AIFD.
The March 2023 Hong Kong Flower Show witnessed their mesmerizing performance of “In-style Wedding,” leaving an indelible mark on the audience. The originality of their ideas in expressing thoughts deserves special mention, showcasing a level of creativity that captivated the onlookers.
In November of the preceding year, I had the privilege of representing Hong Kong at the invitation of Michael Yu Full, the organizer of the 3rd Bohol International Flower Festival in the Philippines. Grateful to Michael for providing this incredible opportunity, our certified floral designers collaborated with esteemed local fashion designers, creating body flower designs on models, and crafting unique floral accessories. The event resulted in an unforgettable and remarkable experience for our talented trio.
What fuels the passion of these new-generation floral designers? Hailing from diverse professional backgrounds, they all joined the floral basic course propelled by personal interests. Floral design becomes their refuge from the demands of their respective industries, allowing them to express their love for floral art. Throughout their flower journey, they infuse their emotions into creations, and the joy of sharing ideas and works during the preparation for these two events has been palpable. Witnessing their interactions with designers from around the world, I’ve captured every moment, revealing that the floral world is truly filled with love.
Thank you AIFD for providing this writing platform. My sincere thanks to Louisa Lam for her help on this submission. It allows me to describe the feelings of the new generation of designers in this article. I am eager to witness how these new-generation floral designers will continue infusing their emotions and unique appeal into their future works.
