For years, I was the administrator of a plastics factory. I had a lot of stress, and as a hobby I decided to study floral design. It changed my life, my energy and attitude. When I finished my first studies, I had the opportunity to go to a course with the Master Gregor Lersch, and then to my first AIFD® symposium in Las Vegas. There I realized that I had a long way to go, and that I definitely wanted to be part of this association!
From those moments, I did not stop preparing myself. After a few years, I quit my job that gave me a lot of economic stability, to follow my dreams and become a good floral designer. It was hard financially and morally, little by little making my way, and life took me down an unexpected path… FLORAL EDUCATION!!
Thanks to flowers, I have had the opportunity to compete in international cups, to travel to different countries , to train with great teachers, and to fulfill my goal of being a member of AIFD® when I was inducted in Washington in 2018!
The best thing is that since 2015 I have the opportunity to share all of my knowledge with my students. I founded my school in Mexico, “Floral Workshops Monterrey”, doing my bit in this guild, training Mexican floral designers and those from other countries with a very complete and professional program. I teach both face-to-face and online courses, based on European and American schemes, being in continuous training to offer the best quality in our education. We have changed lives, we fill many people with happiness, and we sow passion for flowers. Thanks to flowers many people come out of depression, find meaning in their lives, and many of them obtain a source of income!
It is a very big responsibility to be an educator; you have to be in continuous preparation, have a sixth sense to catch trends, adapt topics, learn new techniques to be faithful to our motto of offering the best, and listen to our students to know their concerns and help them. You have to be better every day, because as we always say, your success is our success!
This year we are happy because we have a new program dedicated to the deep study of color applied to floristry, one of the most impressive elements, and that over the years I know that it is very difficult to understand and learn to train our eye, and it is my new goal, to train expert students in floral calorimetry! Flowers have changed my life, and I feel that I must thank them for my happiness sharing with others the treasure of being a Floral Designer.
