The 2025 AIFD “Reflections” Symposium in Palm Springs wasn’t just a celebration of floral artistry—it was a shining example of what happens when passionate people come together with purpose. This year, the AIFD Marketing Committee and Headquarters worked closely to amplify the symposium’s reach and visibility, ensuring that the beauty, creativity, and community spirit of AIFD were felt far beyond the convention center walls.
Through coordinated press releases, media outreach, and strategic storytelling, the marketing team helped elevate the symposium’s profile. AIFD received features in regional newspapers, online outlets, and—most notably—live television coverage. This coverage not only highlighted the artistry behind the symposium but also helped bring awareness to the generosity and community impact behind the scenes.

A Highlight: Blooms Over Palm Springs
One of the most impactful moments of the week was the Blooms Over Palm Springs initiative, which captured the hearts of both the media and the local community. Over the course of just one and a half days, a mighty team of AIFD volunteers created 1,500 bouquets from repurposed symposium flowers.
These bouquets were distributed in two unforgettable public events—one at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway gondola and the other at the foot of the Marilyn Monroe statue, where passersby were surprised and delighted with free flowers. The rest of the bouquets were delivered to six senior centers throughout the greater Palm Springs area, spreading joy to those who needed it most.
A special thank-you goes to PEO, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women’s education, which generously provided transportation and delivery support for the senior center bouquets.
The 2025 Blooms Over Palm Springs program was co-chaired by Tricia Won, AIFD, EMC, IMF, and Amy Neugebauer, AIFD, who led the effort with heart and vision. Tricia shared:
“Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make Blooms Over Palm Springs such a success. Without your help to make bouquets, process flowers, move flowers, and clean up, we could not have touched so many lives with flowers. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.”

Community Impact & Media Buzz
The power of this program—and the marketing behind it—created an incredible ripple effect. One local florist even discovered the symposium after seeing a news segment. And in a memorable moment of support, Palm Springs Mayor Grace Garner joined the festivities, making a bouquet alongside AIFD incoming president, Renée Tucci AIFD.
Coverage included a feature on NBC Palm Springs, print articles, and a widely distributed official press release. These efforts made floral design feel accessible, exciting, and relevant to the broader public.
“Seeing our members, volunteers, and the community come together through flowers was truly moving,” said the AIFD Marketing Chair, Nita Robertson AIFD. “We’re proud of the outreach we accomplished—not just with beautiful blooms, but through strong, strategic storytelling.”

Looking Ahead
The Blooms Over initiative continues to reflect AIFD’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and the transformative power of flowers. The success of this year’s effort lays a strong foundation for future outreach and continued media visibility.
Thanks to the dedication of our marketing team, volunteers, and designers, the 2025 AIFD “Reflections” Symposium was more than an event—it was a movement. A celebration of creativity, compassion, and connection.
