Your National Board met in Chicago at the end of March. We welcomed the regional President Elects; Shannon Toal AIFD North East, Jody McLeod AIFD Southern, Marisa Guerrero AIFD, South Central Sam Prom-Chiem AIFD South West, Debbie Strand AIFD North Central, Frank Blanchard AIFD North West. So excited to hear about the exciting projects for the future.
During our National Board meeting, Ann Jordan AIFD presented many policies and procedure to the Symposium Manual, ensuring that we stay up to date in our practices for the near and far future. The symposium brochure is now on line, if you have trouble downloading, or need a printed copy, contact headquarters, they will help you or send you a copy. Exciting news the National Board approved to move forward with the virtual filming of our Main Stage programs! Watching these programs will be essential to obtain your CEU points. Again, headquarters will have them available for sale.
We are excited to welcome BJ Dyer AIFD as our incoming National Treasurer. BJ has been a past National Board member and has vast experience with finance, not only for AIFD, but with other groups.
Daniel Whitehead will be joining us as our new Assistant Director, hired by the Stringfellow Management Group. Daniel brings over six years of experience, and will be taking Stephanie Bruno CAE place. Stephanie has an opportunity to become an Executive Director for a company within the Stringfellow group. Steph will stay on through our symposium in Vegas. We wish her the best of luck on her new ventures.
Pre-sales have started on the 3rd edition of our Terminology Book. Many thanks to Frank Feysa AIFD and Jackie Lacey AIFD for overseeing this fabulous project. Todd Sweeden AIFD is working on filling the committees for next year, if you wish to get involved, please reach out to him as we need you to get involved.
Jenny Tabarracci AIFD and Steven Brown AIFD, instructors at City College of San Francisco, are in the process of losing their funding for the Floristry program. If this happens, our SAIFD students will lose their certification. If you wish to reach out and sign the petition to help save their program, check your inboxes for an email sent from HQ on April 22nd. Links to the petitions are there, and it takes just two minutes to show your support.
Caroline Crabb AIFD Mdpf is one of the five designers to reach the Interflora final July 3rd RHS Bridgewater, representing the United Kingdom. Congratulations Caroline!
