This spring the Northwest Region held its very first online virtual design contest entitled “FORAGED AND FOUND”.
We had 20 participants and send many congratulations to our top 3 winners: Ellie Grande AIFD 3rd place, Trish Nishikawa 2nd place, and Leigh Rowlings placing 1st and also winning the People’s Choice Award.
Our top 6 competitors were Leigh Rowlings, Trish Nishikawa, Ellie Grande AIFD, Grace Spencer King CFD, Greg Lum AIFD, and Judy Grossman.
It was absolutely refreshing to see all the creative minds showcasing their art, and what fun it was to see everyone’s foraged trinkets and treasures. The contestants were varied in their backgrounds and skill levels with both AIFD and non-AIFD member participation, which is exactly what we were hoping for.
We want to help share and celebrate the artistry of many diverse floral enthusiasts. It was a wonderful success, especially for our very first try, and we look forward to doing another one this fall!
