Dear AIFD Members,
I hope this message finds you well! I am looking forward to gathering in Palm Springs as we experience another amazing Symposium.
Every five years, AIFD undertakes an essential process that ensures our continued relevance, sustainability, and growth — the development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan. I’m pleased to share that this important work is now underway, with a renewed focus on shaping the future of our organization and furthering our mission: to advance the art of professional floral design through education, service, and leadership, and to recognize the achievement of excellence in this art form.
As part of this planning process, we are carefully evaluating our current work and charting a bold, thoughtful course for the years ahead. Our goal is to drive progress, maximize efficiencies, and strengthen our impact across the floral design industry.
Preliminary efforts have included outreach to members and industry partners, as well as an internal assessment of our existing programs and initiatives. These inputs will help guide our next steps and ensure that our Strategic Plan reflects the needs and aspirations of those we serve.
A dedicated workgroup — made up of AIFD members representing a wide range of experiences and perspectives has worked in collaboration with our Executive Directors and under the expert guidance of Jim Delizia, CAE, a nationally recognized strategic planning consultant. Together, this team has met multiple times to discuss key elements such as our mission and vision statements, our value proposition, member engagement, organizational development, and long-term sustainability.
This workgroup will ultimately provide a report with findings and potential recommendations to our National Board of Directors for their review and possible adoption. Throughout this process, the Board will receive regular progress updates and will remain actively involved by offering input and guidance as needed.
This is an exciting and vital chapter in AIFD’s story. I am incredibly proud of the collaborative spirit and thoughtful engagement demonstrated by everyone involved. Our shared commitment to excellence is what makes this organization so special — and it will be our guiding light as we shape the path ahead.
