There’s something incredibly powerful about those four letters—AIFD. They represent more than a title or credential. For those of us in the floral industry, they symbolize excellence, commitment, artistry, and community.
Whether you’re freelancing, teaching, running a shop, or working in corporate floral, those letters set you apart. They tell the world that we don’t just work with flowers—we design with intention, skill, and heart.

Earning the right to add “AIFD” after our names is no small feat. It reflects the time, training, and dedication we’ve invested in mastering our craft. It shows clients, employers, and peers that we’ve achieved a recognized standard of design education and professionalism—and that matters.
Over the past decade as an AIFD member, I’ve seen firsthand the doors it can open. It has led me to opportunities I never imagined—jobs I dreamed about, creative experiences that pushed me to grow, and connections with people who inspire me daily.

One of the greatest highlights of my career—and truly one of the best days of my life—was presenting “Elemental” on the main stage at Reflection: AIFD Symposium 2025. Standing there, sharing my vision and passion with such an esteemed and supportive community, was not only a professional milestone—it was deeply personal. It reminded me of how far I’ve come, and how much this organization has shaped my path.
Recently, those letters helped me land a new job. Why? Because employers know that AIFD designers bring more than talent—they bring comprehensive industry knowledge. We understand not just flowers, but design principles, mechanics, customer service, and evolving trends. That depth of understanding adds value beyond the design bench.
But above all, AIFD means belonging. It’s a community of passionate, like-minded creatives who uplift one another, share knowledge, and celebrate each other’s artistry. In supporting one another, we strengthen the entire floral industry.
To every member of this extraordinary organization: never underestimate the value of your letters. They represent your dedication, mastery, and heart—a story that unfolds in every design you create and every life you touch.
Let’s continue to wear those letters with pride, purpose, and passion.
