Offering applicants the opportunity to S.H.I.N.E. (Scholarships Help Inspire Nurturing Education)
The recipient of S.H.I.N.E. will experience continued education through a mentorship in a specialized floral industry concentration. This expertise, in a specific field of interest, offers a rare opportunity to learn from the absolute best in the floral industry.
Selection
The AIFD Foundation will select one recipient to S.H.I.N.E. in 2020. The deadline for application is September 30, 2019. Upon selection, the AIFD Foundation will advise the company noted on the recipient’s application of the selection. This will provide the needed time for the recipient and the mentor to schedule the preferred dates and begin preparations for a week of specialized floral industry concentration.

The applicant will select one of the following programs of study:
Product Development
Park Hill Collection in Little Rock, Arkansas with Charlie Groppetti AIFD &
Todd Smith during one five day option:
March 2-6 , 9-13, 16-20 or 23-27 in 2020
September 7-11, 14-18 or 21-25 in 2020
High End Retail at its Best and/or Event Planning at its Finest
Tipton & Hurst in Little Rock Arkansas with Chris Norwood AIFD during one five day option:
May 4 – 8, 2020
June 2 – 6, 2020
October 29 – November 2, 2020
A stay of five business days mutually agreed upon during the 2020 calendar year

Showroom Design and Display
Installation
Winward in one of three Winward showrooms in Fremont California, Atlanta
Georgia or Dallas Texas with the Winward Visual Merchandising Team.
A stay of five business days mutually agreed upon during showroom set up in the
2020 calendar year.
Provisions
The provisions of the S.H.I.N.E. Scholarship, awarded and funded by the AIFD Foundation, include a $1,000.00 honorarium and reimbursement of the following noted expenses:
Honorarium $1,000.00
Expenses to be reimbursed:
- Airfare up to $500.00
- Airport Parking up to $25.00 per day
- Accommodations up to 6 nights up to $200.00 per night
- Meals up to 6 days up to $50.00 per day
- The selected company will provide ground transportation during the stay.
