Blevior began its journey in 2010 when Jaclyn Haun started selling flowers in her hometown of 300 people. As a high school student, Jaclyn did prom corsages for six different schools by the time she graduated high school.
While Jaclyn pursued her Bachelors of Horticulture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (GO BIG RED), she set out to grow her business in weddings and events. In between classes and campus activities, she designed weddings for her own business and freelance designed with Hillis & Co.
When the opportunity to study under one of the best wedding designers in San Diego arose, she was quick to spend a summer learning. The next summer of college was spent gaining retail floral experience at Bachman’s, the biggest flower shop in Minneapolis.
Jaclyn graduated with national recognition from American Hort, Society of American Florists, and the American Floral Endowment.
Blevior started out as a wedding florist in Lincoln, NE but after Jaclyn married her sweet rancher, Tyler, she moved to Miller, South Dakota.
On a negative 8-degree day on February 8th, 2019, Tyler and Jaclyn opened their retail store in a basement in Miller. Amid Covid-19, they moved the business to Main Street, then purchased the property on Highway 14 on April 14, 2022.
Jaclyn holds classes and workshops in her store and is always happy to share education with her community. Her shop embraces the seasonality of both flowers and the high & low moments along our life journey.
In 2022, Jaclyn tested to become a South Dakota Certified Florist and was successful. She, along with Kathy Jones AIFD PFCI SDCF presented a stage program at that year’s South Dakota Floral Association yearly convention.
Jaclyn has served on the board of the South Dakota Floral Association since 2022 and is a current board member. Each year she helps in a myriad of ways to organize, plan, and execute the yearly convention. At this year’s convention, she brough along her two high school interns who modeled floral couture in the stage show with Shamah Andrich AIFD.
In 2023, Jaclyn was the people’s choice award winner for the floriculture contest at the South Dakota State Fair. Jaclyn is involved in assisting local FFA students with floral education.
The 2025 South Dakota Floral Association convention was held February 28 – March 2 where Jaclyn won the coveted Pasque Award for designer of the year.
It was so exciting to see Jaclyn win the drawing for the free registration for the 2025 AIFD Symposium in Palm Springs. It could not go to a more deserving & talented young woman who is also very busy with her twins!
