South West Regional Chapter Presents Kristine Sanchez as the Reflections Scholarship Winner

Kristine Sanchez, of Moss & Bloom, has been in the floral industry for over 20 years.  Her introduction to floral design began when she took an ROP (Regional Occupation Program) class as a hobby.  She learned core basics, mechanics and theory. Then, in a sales position at a premier floral boutique in La Jolla, CA, she was fortunate to receive great mentorship.  Senior designers recognized her talent and she learned more about the elements of design in plants, fresh florals and permanent botanicals. Eventually, her interests developed into her passion for flowers, especially her love of event and wedding designs.  She creates designs to achieve the ideal aesthetic, focusing great attention to detail, harmonizing hues and balancing textures in every arrangement. Whether a large event installation or a vase arrangement for an everyday occasion, each design is an opportunity to create something unique.  Her affection for floral continues to push her.  Trends are ever changing and flower varieties are ever evolving, which is exciting and inspiring.

Since 2010, she has exhibited in the San Diego Museum of Art’s signature fundraising event, Art Alive. She is continually inspired by the complexity and nuance of the thought processes of other designers involved.  A variety of backgrounds in floral design is represented; garden clubs, ikebana and professionals and she finds the different interpretations of the same pieces fascinating, challenging individual assumptions and perspectives.  She has been honored with Member’s Choice awards multiple times over the years.
