Southern Chapter: Updates and Previews

As we wrap up the year, the AIFD Southern Chapter is grateful for the creativity, generosity, and momentum our members continue to bring to everything we do. Below are a few key updates: from the close of the 2025 Body Flowers Contest, to exciting details for Gather 2026, and the successful completion of our current David Shover AIFD Mentorship Program term.

2025 Body Flowers Contest Update

The Body Flowers Contest has officially come to an end, and evaluations are currently underway. Our panel of Certified Evaluators and Judges is reviewing all submissions, and winners will be announced in the coming days. Full results and highlights will be shared in our January post.

We extend our sincere thanks to all who participated and donated. Your creativity, generosity, and support play a vital role in the success of this contest and in honoring the legacy of David Shover AIFD.

The Body Flowers Contest is an important fundraiser for the David Shover AIFD Fund. Through initiatives like this, the Chapter continues its focused efforts toward fully endowing the fund, ensuring long-term impact and continued support for future generations of floral designers.

David Shover AIFD Mentorship Program
The second 2025 round of the David Shover AIFD Mentorship Program is successfully coming to an end! This initiative supports prospective PFDE® candidates by helping designers strengthen their skills and prepare for the 2026 PFDE® (Professional Floral Design Evaluation) at the AIFD® Symposium in Orlando, FL.

Open to all PFDE aspirants, the program offers expert guidance, personalized feedback, and accountability, building a strong foundation for confidence and success. All proceeds benefit the David Shover AIFD Fund, reinforcing the Southern Chapter’s commitment to floral education and mentorship.

We’re excited to offer another round in 2026. Space is limited, so if you’re interested in the next term, please email Sue Bain AIFD at shbain1225@gmail.com.

We’re grateful to all who continue to support the Southern Chapter through participation, volunteerism, and giving. These collective efforts help expand educational opportunities, strengthen mentorship, and move us closer to fully endowing the David Shover AIFD Fund for lasting impact. As we close out the year, we wish our AIFD community a joyful holiday season and a bright start to the new year. We look forward to sharing more in January and to an inspiring year ahead.
