If you weren’t at the 2024 AIFD Annual Symposium, Emerge, in Orlando, Florida, you missed a remarkable celebration of floral artistry, bringing together hundreds of designers and professionals worldwide. As the official procurement software for the event, Details Flowers Software played a pivotal role behind the scenes, ensuring a smooth and organized process for all Main Stage Designers, suppliers, and event organizers.
A dedicated team works tirelessly each year to bring the AIFD Symposium to life. Last year, Renee Tucci, AIFD, served as the Fresh Flower Procurement Chairperson, coordinating with 35 designers and 36 partners to ensure the right flowers were sourced and delivered on time. She shares her experience working with Details Flowers Software, reflecting on how the software streamlined the entire process.
“Using Details as the home base for this project has streamlined our processes and made the seemingly overwhelming task not only achievable but, dare I say… pleasant!” says Renee. Setting Up for Success
Although the event happens in July, the planning starts months in advance. Throughout January and February, Main Stage Designers create their entire program in Details. Our team collaborates closely with event organizers to ensure that all products from the incredible suppliers involved are available in Details for the designers to use. This process highlights products from AIFD sponsors like Accent Decor, Smithers-Oasis, and fresh product suppliers, giving designers everything they need to bring their ideas to life.
At the start of the year, the Details team hosted multiple webinars for procurement and Main Stage Designers, showcasing the best tips and tricks for maximizing the software’s capabilities. When their recipes were completed, Details Flowers Software streamlined the process by consolidating all the designers’ selected items into a single master spreadsheet. This report gave the AIFD Procurement team a clear overview of every request, partner, and supplier involved, ensuring a smooth and organized procurement process.
Stunning Visual Inspiration
By the time the symposium arrived in July, the procurement team’s hard work had come to fruition. When two trucks from Armellini arrived at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Hotel in Orlando, the meticulously organized procurement process became a reality. Over the following days, everything was unloaded, processed, sorted, and distributed to Main Stage designers, who used the blooms to create stunning designs that became the true stars of the event.
Flowers were an essential part of the symposium, helping attendees connect with their craft, learn new skills, and explore new creative possibilities. Last year, nearly 100,000 individual design elements were used to create displays that adorned the venue. For Details, it was incredibly rewarding to see how our tools helped make this all possible, ensuring the event’s floral elements were delivered.
