WHERE TO STAY, WHAT TO DO AT SYMPOSIUM “ROOTS”

From Janet Black AIFD, National President

The Harrah’s Hotel Las Vegas will be our host hotel for the 2022 National AIFD Symposium, with their cozy and comfortable, newly renovated 2,500 rooms.

A few food options to explore are; Oyster Bar, Fulton Street Food Hall, Ruth Chris Steak House and Pizza Cake by Buddy V. There is a Starbucks right around the corner too for those much needed caffeine runs!

Hotel Highlight: From the 4th floor we can connect to the Caesars Forum Convention Center where our Symposium programs and activities are taking place.

Important Navigation Note: The Caesars Forum Convention Center is not to be confused with the Forum Shops at Caesars.

The LINQ Promenade is just footsteps away with a mall of restaurants and shops to explore. The high roller observation wheel is a must, to get a glimpse of all of the excitement Las Vegas offers. If you’re a bit more adventurous there is a zipline experience awaiting you!

If you have a sweet tooth, you must visit “I Love Sugar”. Oh yes, with a gummy bear chandelier!  Chilli Beans, Goorin Brothers Hat Shop, Havaianas, Pier 30, Sky Shop and so much more are in the Promenade.

The Convention space is 550,000 sq feet in total, and 300,000 sq ft of flexible meeting space. It’s impressive! As you stroll through the lobby, there are many natural elements; you’ll find a mixture of wood tones, plants and modern décor.  Don’t worry, there are many ports for phone and computer plug-ins so we can keep in touch with our family and business oblations while enjoying programs and floral friends!

The ballrooms are a free span of elegance with accents of crystal chandeliers and sconces. The carpet is impressive throughout, with a stunning pallet of colors in neutral earth tones designed in modern patterns. I know the floral décor will just be the icing on the cake when we arrive.

The back of the house is just as impressive with easy access from the loading dock to the workroom and kitchen area. The dream for a bunch of floral artists, producing a convention!

If you have thought about coming to symposium this is the one you won’t want to miss. Connecting with our floral friends and cheering on our PFDE candidates, as well as new Inductees is always a treat. Awards for more than a two-year span will be announced and recognized. You will need to rest up for this jam-packed week of floral education and reconnecting with our floral family and friends. The ROOTS Symposium team of volunteers is excited to see you in Vegas July 4-9th!
